I have seen the same problem. We currently don't know of a fix.
Spent all my money on carputers now I have to work a real job.

If it happens every time, it could be bad RAM or the RAM is overclocked in the BIOS. The read failure message is either caused by an HD error or a bad compare between memory and disk.

I have been having that problem lately as well, though intermittantly, and I havent had the time to try to troubleshoot it.

    Unhappy new development

ok, so i updated my bios, now when i boot up after hibernating it comes up with "The amount of system memory has changed" or something like that... you get two options, press F1 to continue or F2 to go to system menu... does this mean i have loose ram or something? i have no idea... oh yeah, after you press F1 it continues to the blue screen of death as per usual... yippee...

I'm thinking your RAM is ****ed up... test it by removing one of the sticks (if you have 2) or use a tool to check it (software, not sure how reliable they are)

My CarPC used to hibernate fine but one day a log time ago it just started locking up when resuming. I don't get the error you guys are talking about, I just get the white progress bar on the bottom going from the left side to the right, then when it is at 100%, the PC just sits there and does nothing. If I restart it, I them am presented with the "delete restoration data" prompt you guys mentioned. I think it might have started when I started using CF instead of FP, but I am not sure it is related to that (I currently get the problem even if I shutdown everything but explorer before hibernating). Anyone have any de-bugging tips?

haha windows sucks, this problem has been around for ages and nobody EVER has any kind of a reasonable explanation or solution.

for the record, I've seen this on dozens of different car-puters and regular computers, completely intermittently. it just does it whenever it damn well wants.
