There are several others out there...but i am afraid MS Streets & Trip 2001 is still the best one to use in CAR.

I currently use The Delorme Street Atlas series, but I have also used the RandMcnally.

    I have NEVER had a a 15 sec delay.

It could be your GPS or somehow the computer.

Most GPS recievers update their position every second. It tends to be the software that introduces the 15 second lag. Why? I have no clue.

The Teletype software ( http://teletype.com/gps/index.html ) updates every second. Unfortunately the maps for Canada suck.

To add to donalson's question, if there are other programs out there that have faster GPS refreshes, is it possible to import map info from a product like Streets & Trips?

I would sugest that all of you who want to either be able to set the Update Frequency manually or have it back to 1 sec or has any other sugestions to the future MapPoint apps goes to http://www.microsoft.com/mswish and tell the developers that.

btw, the next beta of MapPoint will be out in about 2 months ... so they might be able to fix that if enough ppl complain
