Worth the download. I've been a Beyond TV user for a couple of years now. I love it. It's comparable to Tivo, but you don't have to pay them a monthly fee. You can put a 200gb drive in an old system and use it to record a bunch of shows, convert DVDs to Divx, put your entire MP3 collection, etc... I'm a beta tester for Beyond Media, and it's great for all of those things. If you've got an old system, the pair of Beyond Media and Beyond TV is outstanding. It'll be a lot cheaper than picking up a new Media Center computer. The secret to getting Beyond TV to run on old computers is to get a Hauppauge PVR-250 because it does most of the work.

    HA.

For a while. This front end is very easy to skin apparently. Plus there is an SDK so if you can code you can write your own plug-ins.

Hi ncamara, didn't know you can convert "DVD to Divx" with BTV3. Mind sharing how to do it? I have also been using BTV3.5 and Beyond Media at home and in the car. My opinion is they are great for Home Entertainmnet but for carpc FrodoPlayer is still the best and most stable. Thanks.

    m4a for beyond media

Is there a way to get beyond media to play m4a? I really like the way this works over the others, but it cannot play m4a that I can tell.

Sorry to confuse you. What I meant was that with some other program you could do that and play the file on the computer with Beyond Media on it.
I agree with not using Beyond Media or Windows Media Center for a car computer. However, for your living room, this will work great.

Im NEVER a fan of paying for software that has a constant reminder of the name of the software or the developer somewhere on screen.

Whether its just during startup or a constant watermark somewhere, its friggin gay and annoying.

I dont know about this program per se, but if you cant skin out these commercialisitic images, its a POS in my opinion.

    Its like this analogy:

you pay for satellite radio, YOU GET NO COMMERCIALS! WOOOT!

    And yet:

you pay for cable TV, and they have commercials on every channel but PBS and the other PAY by month channels.

    Capitalism is bull**** man.

    ROCK ON COMMIES!
