Yep, been using that and the firefly remote for a while. Just wish they would get an IR remote working here soon. I prefer to just program the pronto remote to do everything for me, and can't do it with the RF firefly. I do have a serial IR remote on my HTPC, but the firefly has some better stuff and easier to interface/program buttons for different apps.

I dont know about this program per se, but if you cant skin out these commercialisitic images, its a POS in my opinion.

    Its like this analogy:

you pay for satellite radio, YOU GET NO COMMERCIALS! WOOOT!

    And yet:

you pay for cable TV, and they have commercials on every channel but PBS and the other PAY by month channels.

    Capitalism is bull**** man.

    ROCK ON COMMIES!

Umm...Satellite radio still has commercials on most of the channels don't they?

I think you need to relax just a tad open your eyes a little. I'm sure you would be able to skin out the product name. And as far as splash screens go, I would say most apps have a splash screen when they open up. Even the really good ones. So, your opinion on that seems a little skewed. What apps do you use that don't have a splash screen? Do you use windows? All versions of Windows have one. any image editing apps? Photoshop, PSP, ect. those have splash screens as well and I think those are great apps. How about cd burning software? NERO friggin rocks and that has a splash screen too.

So, what apps do you actually use that don't have splash screens that are great apps? Or do you just use apps that are a$$ to support your comunistic ways???

EDIT: WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read your signature...That explains everything right there. You're a Mac user. You can disregard all my questions toward you because I can already pretty much tell what kind of answers I would get.

    "Boy"...Ha. That's funny...

What's even worse is copping out on an app because of a splash screen...

I agree with not using Beyond Media or Windows Media Center for a car computer. However, for your living room, this will work great.
    Thanks for the clarification.

Lemme tell you, MCE2005 is probably the most advanced program you can use...but with that, its a ***** to get started properly. Your video card MUST put out atleast 64mb of memory. for TV, you almost have to have an aftermarket agp card, cause the onboard video cards aren't that good. the files are windows system files so its hard to skin them...well, after you know how to turn off Windows File Protection which I just now did, its easy to skin Media Center. the most simple task to do on Media Center, is to add external programs, right click hold, drag, unclick and save as shortcut. Done! Skining is a little difficult, but its very advanced. you have to first turn off windows file protection, which me and Ben (hybrid engineer) been workin on, and think we got it figured out, then you have to download resource tuner. And all you do is open the ehres.dll file and everything is in there, all the buttons, backgrounds, colors, words, you name it!

Also, download WinDVD...this is the BEST decoder/codec you can use. after windows finishes the install, install WinDVD. Make sure you have atleast 64mb of video memory, and then, ENJOY!

Like I said earlier, you wont grasp the full effect by using your mouse or touch screen...you HAVE to have the remote. its 33 bucks on new egg. and its soo worth it. I dont know what people have against remotes, since EVERY car audio system today has a remote, and thats what people are tryin to do with these front ends, is to get them to look like real car audio front ends. Well this helps, cause you can access other menu's, get to area's alot faster...its just worth it. I love it.
