make sure you run the file called "mpxftsr". that allows you to control mpxplay from mpxf.

Great program. The only problem Iam having is when im in mpxf and i go to play a song it opens up mpxplay and when it does that the lcd display(4x40) goes blank and the keypad numbers are no longer work for mpxf. the keypad number for mpxplay work though.
Im sure its some option i have to configure but i cant find it... If some one is using a 4 x 40 lcd with mpxf i would be greatful to see you config files (.cfg).

How do you run the mpxftsr. Do I start that program then mpxf. Or do you start mpxf and then mpxftsr. I keep getting errors. Can it run under windows in a dos window or does it have to be totally in a dos enviroment.
thinks for the help dj
I get the same errors when I try to run the MPXF TSR under windows. There is a command to use in your config.sys but I dont remember the exact command. It should be listed in the text files that came w/ MPXF. Your best bet is to just run it in good ole' DOS. Saves on boot time and system resources.

UPDATE: I moved farther north. Now its even too cold for the deer; only moose now
Im about ready to go and try it under dos.
wish me luck..
xzol - start mpxftsr.exe first, then start mpxf. i have not tried it within windows...
//dj
1st - I restarted windows in dos mode
2nd - I started mpxftsr.exe
3rd - I started mpxf.exe
4th - I browsed my hard drive and selected a song to play.
5th - mpxf sent the song to mpxplay and it looked like it started to play but then the comp froze. mpxftsr loaded because i could see the song name and all that stuff on the lcd. Whats wrong. Why is mpxplay freezing everytime i try to play a song. I added STACKS=18,256 to my config.sys file so i know its not that. Any ideas why its doing this.
hhmmm..
if it freezes up when you are running only mpxplay too, then it sounds like a soundcard problem. if it's only when mpxftsr is loaded... then you've got other problems.
thoroughly go through your mpxftsr config file, and check for any problems in that.

I tried to just play a mp3 in mpxplay and it did the same thing. So there for I think its a problem with either my sound card or mpxplay. Whats funny is that last week mpxplay worked fine. But I formated my hard driven and installed win98 on saturday. Now when i try to use mpxplay it frezzes on me. Whats up with it. I have a ESS solo on board sound card. Does anyone have an idea whats going on with it....
yes, it certainly does sound like soundcard problems to me... in my experience, mpxplay is very picky with it's soundcards.
well... make SURE you have GOOD soundcard drivers. try the EXACT ones you had before you reformatted. if you aren't making any progress, then slip in another soundcard and see if mpxplay works with it.
(BTW, i would select "auto-detect" from within mpxplay's config file if i were you... of course if that doesn't work, be specific)
