Post Travroute CoPilot 2001 GPS information

OK.... i have tested copilot 2001 with my randmcnally (serial port ) GPS receiver which is just a standard NMEA and it DOES WORK! ( at least from my house )

I think this info is useful for those of you that are wondering wether you need to use their own receiver. I will be soon installing on my car puta and see how well it performs on the road. I will keep everyone updated. So far this app loooks reallyyy sweet....
Just gotta figure out some macros to use with irassistant now...

    copilot 2001 is a keeper....
big screen fonts and easy to read directions...it's like one of those car navigation systems that automakers like lexus and infinity has.... maybe better =)
I will take some snapshots and update my website sometime soon..
go to www.travroute.com if you need more info

Do they only sell the software bundled with their GPS?

Yes unfortunatelly..... but you can buy the bundle from travroute, burn the disks then return it ( 30 day money back guarantee) provided you buy it form their website. BTW...you didn't hear this from me hehe

Ugh, but it's FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. I realize it's probably still cheaper than the stand-alone units, but that would make it the most expensive part of my setup.

Hell, I don't even have the cash to "burn & return" if I wanted to. :P

The fact that it has only 2 data CDs makes it look really nice.
I don't like how retki's metroguide has 9 data CDs... what a waste of drivespace. :-(

Does only CoPilot 2001 work this way or can you use the previous versions with an NMEA receiver too?
