I got that error a lot when I had a inverter.

when I switched to DC-DC it went away.

That error really shouldnt have annything to do with the power supply though.

usualy reloading windows helps, but you could try plugin it into std ac power, I would be interested to know if that works

I had that error when I was accidentally running my desktop athlon system off of a 125W power supply. It does seem to be power related. It went away when I got a 250W supply.

Wow, that is really strange, I had a 250 Watt inverter, but the strange thing was :

I could boot the system, the Display driver would not load. it detected the video card as VGA, everything ran, but crappy video. ( and I fould that while in this mode 1 program, macromagic would hang. ) I could shutdown to msdos mode, and it gave a protection fault and rebooted. uppon reboot everything was fine. correct video drivers and all.... the next time I rebooted, failed again... and would continue to fail until booted to dos, Protection error, and rebooted.

I have NEVER seen anny thing like it on anny other computer, and when I connected it to ac... ( or the DC-DC power system ) it was fine.
I wonder what caused it.... oh well.
