    Now I am worried, may be I will need that dual processor xeon in my car afterall, to control the volume

    Hey, what about not only including vehicle speed, but windows as well. When the windows open, and the speed is up near highway speeds, blast the sound!

    Heck, I just use a Griffin Powermate and everything is solved. I would rather not have a gimmick that could bug out on you and slam the volume to 100% (can you trust the operating system???)

    Yeh, exactly! Use a knob that you can move by hand. I'm going to go with a phidgets interface and hack my stock knob (it even has a momentary switch when I push it in!).

    Mine lowers the volume when I slow down. Works great.
