    Question MP3 Library

I'd like to make a list of all my mp3s for refrence, but I can't find anything to do what I want. I'm currently using MusicMatch, which has great features for tagging and sorting, and I've been backing up my collection on CD. MusicMatch will only print out a library list for each drive, so that leaves me with about a dozen lists to thumb through when I'm looking for a song . I'd like to compile everything into one neat list that I can also label each song with the source CD. Is this possible or am I too blind to see the answer ? Thanks to all!!!

i use "album list" plug-in for my mp3 list. you have an mp3 directory folder. then you make a folder for each artist. then within that, you have each individual album by that artist. it lists this in the playlist on win amp. it shows the artist then the album title. works great!

Winamp will do it for you! In the playlist window, click on MISC, and then "Generate HTML Playlist"

Here's an example of what it does: http://mp3box.2y.net/temp/list.html

albysure: Which player do you have? Can you print out a list of songs thats fairly legible with that setup? I've organized my mp3's in directories like your discribing, but I still have to hunt them down when I'm searching for a song. Since everything is on individual cd's, it puts a kink in things. (I'm trying conserve my hard drive).

Arby : Winamp looks like a good option. Can I sort diffrent lists out according to artist, song, or genre? I'd like to use the mp3 tags, like MusicMatch does, since it includes everything you could need to find a song.

Thanks for the ideas! Sorry I'm so picky, but I'm trying to find the easiest way to root through my stash. Its a pain when I have to spend 5 minutes looking up a song for a friend or making sure I don't download a duplicate. Can you blame my for being lazy.

    Question

is there any way to get a numbered list? i have the carplayer.com plugin that allows you to choose a song from the playlist by number (+#+ on the number pad) and i wanted to create a list that had the song title and its playlist number.

try this program: www.cd2html.de . It has an mp3 search to it that will output file size, fiel name, and get tag info life length of song, artists, bit rate..... I use it in my mp3 car setup for control. Check out my list at http://www.emoocher.com/mp3test/ . Mind you I edited the template for output highly so fonts would be different color, size, and not display all the info. Also, check out http://www.emoocher.com/mp3car/flash/final2.html and go to the software section for more info on how I use it ect.

I use MP3 Database. It is great, you can print out everything. It has great tools too.

    BTW I have about 4800 MP3s

    Cool

My player uses Access for playlists. Makes doing reporting very easy...

Thanks guys! I'll probably end up switching to the Winamp. MusicMatch has some cool options, but visulizations are crap. And I'll play around with Database and cd2html and see if they'll work any better.
