whats ur resolution?
ok, i got my amd k6-2+ 475 installed and divx still skips, then i change the resolution from 640x480 to 720x something and it works fine. I was hoping i could keep it in 640x480 so it looks better when on my lcd. Any suggestions, or has anyone else had this problem too??

you could possibly try installing the latest video drivers for your card and possibly even the latest directx. also if you're using media player 7+, it's pretty bloated and you could try 6.4, or you could even try some of the other divx players out there that are supposed to use less system resources. you can find them at http://www.divx-digest.com

I have no solutions to the problem, just wanted to say my opinion
i have a funny feeling that its your video card thats messing with you.
I can only think of one thing, some of the never video cards perform better at high resolution 800x600/1024x768 etc
The reason for this i belive is that they dont expect people to run 640 anymore.
So my guess is that you are using a newer video card, and you can only hope that they will update your drivers so they will run better ...
nipkick: yeah, im using wmp 6.4, but im going to try updating to the new direct x. also, thanks for the link!
darkwingduck: i have the jaton trident 9750. i cant get this card to go full screen either unless i do it manually everytime. who knows... heh
