yeah i've used it for mine. works well. i use ipx or beui to avoid having to depend on tcp/ip because i want to shorten the boot time. just have the mp3 player load the pcanywhere host file at boot and you're all set.

calm down pal. i know about vnc, i use it on my own machine. the reason not to use it is because it requires tcp/ip (which i can't really use on my network) and it also has less features than pcanywhere. on my mp3 player, i have a key bound to launch pcanywhere, so it doesn't always use resources, it only uses them when i need to update it.

Charles Enwesi: a bit high strung eh?

I like VNC because it's free, and that I can run it from just about any platform, but I like PCAnywhere because it's *FAST* and it has a number of features that are missing from VNC

I use Remote Control by DataSet. Very small and may be startet from the registry before the shell is loaded.

Not as fast as NetOp or PCanywhere, but usable and small. I am using the 1.1 unregistred version which is the same as a registred version.

Don't get me wrong, VNC is a great free tool...but it just kinda seems pointless if you have an mp3 car setup...because you still have to setup shares and all that jazz just to move files between computers. id rather use something like carbon copy, pcanywhere, laplink, or even netbus for that matter that has file transfers built in just my opinion....

Hehehe...NetBus. Anyway, there is another one called Timbuktu. It's by Netopia and is an excellent program. It will run as a service, do file transfers, remote control, et all. Only runs on TCP/IP though.
