Right click in the system tray and select "customize notifications". Set the security center to "never show". I think that'll do it.
How do I turn off this security center (shield in the taskbar) it keeps popping up saying I don't have firewall turned on, no antivirus software, and auto updates off. I don't want firewall, anti virus or auto updates.
I right clicked on "my comp.", went to "manage" and in the services I turned the stuff off. It turns off, shield goes away, but when I reboot it comes back on. How do I shut this crap off, to stay off.

Just stopping the service isn't enough, you have to set its startup parameters to "Manual" or "Disabled"

Weird, my customize notifications is not black, its not an option. It's there, but it's not clickable.
@Ninja, how?

For customise notifications to be clickable, you need to enable hiding icons. Control Panel -> Taskbar and Start Menu -> Check "Hide inactive icons"Originally Posted by muldrick
To disable a service (better option) go to Services, right click on the service, click Properties and from the drop down box select Disabled
