    Post Win's 2-second delay: faster bootup?

    Is there a way to supress the 2-second boot delay Win98 loves doing upon bootup? TweakUI will let you disable the splash screen but it still seems slow upon bootup. Any way to do this without using 98Lite? Thanks.
    P4 2.4GHz, Intel mobo w/onboard sound & video, 128MB memory, 100GB Seagate Momentus laptop drive, Xenarc 700TSV 7" touchscreen, IRman using Girder, 150W Opus dc/dc psu, Alpine CDA-9835 h/u, MBQuart speakers, Infinity 15" sub, MTX amps.

    I believe you can change a setting in the msdos.sys file. Just open it in notepad.

    I had looked and found a few settings I thought might make a difference but so far, no luck.

    I found the answer on one of the mp3car.com sites!

    try adding this to your msdos.sys file

    "BootDelay=0"

    credit goes to allroy for that one....

    Also try Logo=0 for 0.5 sec less on boot (disables startup logo), and disable the start sound when windows comes up.

    Does the "bootdelay=0" help any if you are just running DOS? I did get rid of the splash screen but I'm not sure if the 2 second delay is a problen in DOS...

    This'll work on Win98, guys.......and I guess it would go where the other main params are, up top? I'll have to give it a shot.
