Codec Pack - All In 1 is a pretty good pack. I use it currently, as of yet I haven't found a format it doesn't play.

Please Frodo you're my only hope!! (in a Princes Leah kind of voice)

You won't like my answer on this one.
Codec packs are the devil.

But the funny thing is, when I was fiddeling around with a unattended XP install I couldn't get all the codecs/filters I wanted to install silently (well, not in a estetic way anyway) so I made my own codecpack based upon one guys guide (and he knows what he's talking about) and a few other things I wanted in it (dvd-codec and Media Player Classic)...
Now, if I'd tell people that I installed this and that, configured it in a certain way, then fine... separate codecs are cool and if you know how to configure them then you're da man.
But if I'w tell 'em that I installed a codec pack, well, they really don't listen to what it contains or what it does because codec packs are evil, end of discussion.
In general codec packs are a good idea, the problem with Nemo, K-Lite and others are that they keep growing and growing to meet everyones needs so you'll end up with loads of different codecs, many of wich you'll never use.
Then you have (pardon me for saying this) the less experianced users who install nemo, then have a file that wont play, so they install K-Lite as well, and there the problems begin and all codec packs get a bad reputation.
