Post Note on Large Harddrives and old Bios

Last night I was ready to throw my computer out the window!
I bought a 10gig Quantum Fireball from my moms secretary and the Bios could see only 8gigs, and dos would only see 503megs!
So after much cursing (and thanks to the guys in #slashdot on slashnet) I finally got it to work.
I had to download the utility for Quantum drives which acts like a second Bios.
People told me not to use it, but it works fine. It does add about 3 seconds to my boot time, but that doesn't bother me, as I'm using Dos, and its pretty fast.
AS I'm writing this, all my mp3s are copying over from my main computer.
Oh, and I am so happy, my 4x40 LCD sample shipped from Data International Yesterday.
There sending it COD on Shipping. So its costing me less than 10$. I finally get to finish my project.
All thats left is to get a stereo with Aux in, and I already know what I want. its a Panasonic KEH-P1010 from Crutchfield, it has 22watts RMs (it is a tape though, but that doesn't bother me) Or, I may get a Aiwa and hack it, or just have a small wire coming around to the front.

    Cool

You used an overlay, which is not a recommended solution in any case. Down the road, it will cause you problems. Especially if you want to use a utility like Ghost to move it to another drive. And most overlays can't be removed without totally erasing the drive.

    I wouldn't doubt,
I sent an email for it as soon as I heard about it, and, I had a good story (which is true by the way) That I need it for a school electronics class.
