    New D3 Frontend coming soon..

:-) been busy having a go at learning VB.. its not to bad so I set myself a task ini making a frontend for Destinator 3. Its getting there and I would expext a beta release in the next week or so. Its not going to do much that NM's frontend can't do.. just something to play with.

heres a couple of screenshots so far.. no doubt they will change

Things still left to do :-

complete re-write of the menus (already know how to do this)
Map Speed, number of sats (not tackled this yet, no idea)
complete re-wrtie of Fav's (already know how to do this)
    Website (no probs)
Skins (prob in next release, want to get all the code working first)
Installer for this, making sure not conflicting with NM's version

just concentrating on getting a working version at the mo. I've made it fully resizeable so embedding it into a app should be too hard. Maybe once I finish this.. I could look into making a embedding app for frodo.. something that frodo starts up, then this app then starts the actual app in a window itself.. you could then customize it to suit. Anyway.. long way of that, 4 weeks of VB has left me rather tired, as I seem to be still thinking about 'just how the hell i'm i going to do that' whilst i'm sleeping.. lol

I'd like to make a suggestion. Can you try to ensure it can be installed in different locations? Many of us using EWF(read only) windows xp need to install apps on a different drive. This way favorites can be persisted during a reboot.

It would be great if your front end could do it.

I will look into this when i'm building a installer, from what iv'e read the .dll is hardcoded with the location of the needed files. Like you said this includes your fav's etc. What wouldnt be a problem to do would be just to hack the .dll to goto d: say instead of c:. As for my fonrtend, that can be placed anywhere. Maybe I could include 2 different .dlls depending on what drive you need it installing to :-)

I'll look into the modified dll. I just wanted to make sure your app was going to be cool.
I didn't realize it was you CdRsKull. I would have given you more credit than that.
I've seen some terribly written code by some other people. Makes you wonder. Not from this forum. Not trying to dogg anyone.
