Looks interesting, but Linux compile capability only in pro version ($639).
And Mac - who cares.
Otherwise same as VB.
Thought that at least one of the developers here (or maybe non developers) would like to have a look at this if you have not seen it before:
http://www.realsoftware.com/realbasic/
Also allows you to compile it for LINUX, MAC, AND WINDOWS etc.
Screen shots here:

Some example applications here:

Looking forward to comments
Dave
PS
A lot of it is drag and drop![]()

as I said in the other thread (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...1&postcount=86), it does make sense to use this program to code once, then export to each major OS (Mac, Win, Linux). However, I am a bit skeptical that a single language can do thus, unless its doing Java. Each of those OS have their own individual GUI, classes, etc. how can one piece of coding handle all of that?
anybody have any experience with this software first off?

Have you heard of .NET? That's exactly what M$ hopes to achieve with the .NET Framework and its CLR.
I dont get it. Why would you want to build a carputer program using controls suited for a desktop enviornment rather then say a touchscreen?

yes, but only for the WINDOWS platform (edit: and with Mono, it can also do linux and Mac OS X as frodo corrected me @ Mono):-POriginally Posted by DRWeside
actually, Java is what was trying to achieve to be the same code for all platforms. some parts of Java are OS dependent, and with these roots, it will never be for all platforms with a single source of code unless the programmer builds it in.
what do you think you are doing now with all the windows programs? ADAPTING current or custom desktop programs for a touchscreen INTERFACE. :-)Originally Posted by god_of_cpu

Mono does have a plug-in to support .Net with Mac OS X.
however, OS X is *not* linux. it is Darwin, which is a BSD Unix (like FreeBSD, NetBSD, etc.) There is a way, however, to run OS X on linux with a PowerPC processor (http://www.maconlinux.org/).
maybe go the linux way instead on the mac hardware?

You can also use Scheme on multiple OS as well. We learned it in my programing languages class last semester, it a pretty neat language.Originally Posted by kandyman676
