    Post auto-off atx + windows 2000 hibernate

    Has anyone configured this to work? For some reason I can't get windows to hibernate, I get the notification that there has been a power failure...but thats it. Theres not a whole lot of stuff to configure...I can get it to work with APC's powerchute software...but that won't let you hibernate

    which auto off atx is this?? dschidt? YOu may want to try with Jeff's atx poweroff. I was able to do both hibernation and shutdown with no software to configure... only set winMe or 2000 to hibernate when power button is pressed.

    its a dschmidt, no worries though. I solved the problem myself by writing my own software to watch the serial port and put the computer into hibernate i haven't even heard of jeff's power-off- is there a howto?

    I like it cuz it doesn't take up a serial port and you can adjust the timing for everything adding pot's, all parts cost only ~$15.

    Here are two links that will show you how to hibernate from the command line:
    http://www.losoft.de/fs_lstools.html - This link is to a command-line utility that supports hibernate from W2K, but I'm not sure about other OS's.
    http://www.jsiinc.com/subg/tip3100/rh3153.htm - This link will show you how to use the Windows Scripting Host to hibernate your machine. Pop it onto the command line or make a shortcut for it.
