Tried :,800,480,640 to set the screen size to lilliput dimensions but it had no effect - don't suppose this is a major issue as i'll set it to fullscreen.



SEEMS to be using a lot of CPU on my P4 laptop even when idle - will confirm this after a reboot.

I love the extra vertical space Great when you navigate in 'vehicle always pointing up' mode.

If I can make a suggestion, move the time/date to the right and make the mode/view buttons slightly smaller - this will give even more vertical room

Menus nice in a tomtom-esque way but would prefer if they could all go on one page? - I figure this is just a skinning issue.

Voices are crystal clear.

No. of satellites missing?

Waypoint mode nice.

cheers fella.. yep still got number of Sats to do, will stick a option in to remove date/time as this may be displayed on the embedding app ie. mediacar.

As for the size, I will make it so you can set the size within the app, and next time you open it it will be 'that size' ie.. Maximised, minimised.. 800x600, 800x480 or custom etc.. you get the idea :-) At the moment it just starts up in a standard size.

Glad to see you got it working this is really the first beta release mainly to get afew beta testers onboard. I will check out the cpu usage. Whats the start up time on it ?

re cpu usage.. I monitored it when running on mine, and it didnt get over 8%, this what when I was resizing the screen, and it was redrawing all the time.
let me know what yours is ta.

Also found a error on the Go Home button, it just picks the first one in My Favorites to go to, rather then the one that you call 'Home' will change this.

The Go Home function is v.easy to set up, just find your road on the map, tap the screen and tap fav's then enter 'Home' as your Fav name in My Favorites catogory.. thats it. Very good addition I think.

I will also be getting rid of many unused icons from the menu.. ie 2d when already in the 2d mode, night when already in night mode. I just wanted to prove I could get different menu's working, now that I can I'm going to rewite it all so all the menus are touch friendly :-)

CPU usage ok - must have had something else running last night

Startup time for 1st run was quite lengthy (10-15 secs) but today it is 1-2 secs

I'll keep playing...

So are u and NM in compertion now or helping each other ?

Nar not at all, I still love his frontend. I just wanted to have a play myself at writing something. Still got loads of ideas to add, and stuff I want to try. :-)
