Thread: Great plugin for character LCD users

I've been using the LCD plugin for winamp by Markus Zehnder for some time now, and I think it's great. I just upgraded to the 0.5 preview release and it's incredible! There are tonnes of new features, but there are a couple which really stand out. The plugin now supports multiple display sets. You can program as many different 'screens' wiht different infomation as you want, then cycle through them with the . key on the keypad. Also, there is now a menu system built in. Press / on the keypad and you get a menu on the LCD (select title, select playlist, etc). All you do is tell the plugin where you keep your playlists and you can cycle through them using the on-screen menu. Finally, there is now full keypad support built in.
I was previously using three plugins (one for the LCD, one for the keypad, one to manage playlists) but this one now does it all. I highly recommend this plugin to anyone who uses a character based LCD! There is support for Matrix Orbital and CrystalFontz serial LCDs as well as HD44780 parallel displays.
