currently I just use Giess on my LCD, I'm thinking of starting to use crossfaders and maybe a leveler type plugin.

Umm.. Why would you want my settings? I set this to what I think sounds the best. But If you insist....
Fidelity 8 (the second best thing about this plug-in)
Ambience 0 (Just don't like the sound of it)
3D Surround 3
Dynamic Boost 4
Hyper Bass 8 (The best thing about this plug-in)

i use Geiss and it works great (20-25fps avg.), even on a crappy 4 meg vid card. as soon as i get my wireless keyboard (have it already), Radeon vid card (have it already), and 60gig hard drive (ordering soon), i am going to mess around with the sound plugins.
Maveric: Is there a huge diff. in how it sounds with DFX in the car??

After reading Maveric's post about DFX, I gave it a try. On my stock system it was a big improvement. Granted, a lot can be done with Winamp's built in EQ, but DSP plugins are great for lazy people like myself. I agree the ambience setting is crap. I even hate the word "ambience" I sound like a pussy just typing it.
Other plugins currently in use:
Rock Steady - volume normalizer
G-Force Vis - good with slow onboard video, easy doubletap to fullscreen for touchscreen, esc. key not needed to return to window
Ao Interface - resizable buttons, again great for touchscreens and probably anyone using a cursor-based input ie, trackball, touchpad, etc...
Bluecave Slider - just experimenting for now
97 Dodge Ram 13.8" touchscreen/DVD/GPS/TV/FM

Yeah that DFX is quite nice, now I just need a really good volume one, some of my mp3s are quiet and well others are quite loud, need to be able to set a limit.
It honestly makes a big difference. The fidelity setting is the one you can notice the most, it makes it sound alot cleaner. I also use DFX at home hooked up to my surround sound stereo, which usually doesn't output much sound to the rear speakers, but with the 3D surround on it sounds great.Originally posted by RaZor:

i just got DFX 6.0 and its really nice. It does sound different than what im used to with the winamp eq. sounds that i never really noticed before are now clear. now i just have to test this in the car. i have a feeling this "test drive" is going to be a few hours. heh.
