If you are using WinAMP as your shell you can add this to your autoexec.bat:
shell=c:\progra~1\winamp\winamp.exe d:\*.mp3
Or at least I think that will work. It's at least worth a try.
I'm building an mp3 player for my car, controlled only by a keypad. I want to be able to insert a cd and have winamp autoscan it and generate a playlist and start playing automaticlly. I found such a plugin at winamps site, but it seems to conflict with my keypad input plugin, and crashes when i insert a second cd. Does anyone know of a plugin that will do what i need it to do?

For those of you with the same problems as I had, when I switched my shell to winamp, the two plugins worked fine together! With my shell as explorer, I was getting "Cant write data to disk" errors when I switched CDs. (Why was it writing data to my HD?)
ive got a plugin that does that

i use it on my home pc as my car mp3 will be running dos when its fimished

Pcman18,
Your plugin is the one i was using when i got all the errors. Now that i've switched to winamp as my shell, it works fine, BUT, i would like to be able to search for mp3's on my HD by pressing a key on the numpad. the keypad is the only thing i have controlling my mp3 player in my truck, and your plugin uses keys like 'shift' and 'alt', do you have a newer version where users can change keypad input?
Thanks

An idea that I havent tried but plan to use in my home mp3 player is to save the playlist on the burned CD, and then with an Irman Remote, select playlist 1 with the default playlist directory in D:/. Its just an idea. If anyone can verify this idea, I woudl appreciate it.Originally posted by Mp3Chevy:
