need software suggestions (u need, I code :)
well maybe not as straight forward as that, but if there are good enough ideas, maybe i'll just write something .. little utilities, all out big *** programs, anything.. for instance, right now, I'm writing a windows program that uses winamp input and output plugins and will also use windows advanced power management to suspend the computer when AC goes off (this is ok for me since i'm using a laptop for the MP3 player) .. then with some hardware, when AC goes back on, it will turn the laptop on .. since it's going to suspend, this solves the "windows taking forever to boot" problem and the "windows cannot be just turned off" problems.. it also drives a serial LCD module and will be able to accept pretty much any type of key input... but enough about that
what do u guys want to see out there? (i code for windows or dos... utilities can be done in either, mp3 playing right now only in windows cause i havent played with xaudio yet) .. anyway .. send your suggestions this way, and i'll see what i can do

Maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but all the software and plug-ins I see are for 2x20, 2x40, 4x20 etc LCD screens. I would like to see some software drivers or plug-ins for a 24x40 or similar size. example(http://www.allelec.com/VGALCDMono.html)the one at the bottom the page for $35.

is it possible? - yes.. but u need some sort of voice recognition codec for it .. i suppose if u had some sort of software like dragon dictate or something then it would be possible to make something like that work
