Thread: WinAmp Playlist and PalmAmp... uggh!

Here's what i do. I have a ftp/web server in my garage that is plugged into a 10 port hub. When I want to update mp3's I transfer them to the server from my pc. Then on the server I transfer them to the car pc and open the playlist on the car with winamp installed on the server. I add the add the songs I want and save the playlist to the car computer. *** long as the directories of the mp3's are the same it works like a charm.

Hmmm, I'm not running a server and the mp3's on my main computer are on a different drive letter than the car player. BUT, I have a laptop with all the songs loaded in at the same location as the car's (C:\MP3\). Your idea will work if I create the playlist on the laptop, then copy it over to the car player - agree?

I use a program called MP3 PlaylistCreator at http://www.sassner.com/mp3 which lets you create a playlist and batch rename ID3 tags & files etc etc.. It also has a feature to save a playlist as being drive independant so it will just look for the file in \MP3s\file.mp3 instead of c:\mp3s\file.mp3 or d:\mp3s\file.mp3.. might help
