    Post Winamp buffering/skip protection?

Recently my PC has caught the "broken record" syndrome. My player is a BookPC, running Win95 with all the music stored on burned CDs. For the past couple of weeks, I wouldn't be able to drive 10 minutes without the CD going into a infinite loop, playing the same 1 sec sample of music over and over again until I turned the computer off.

I finally was able to remedy the problem by setting Winamp such that it buffers the entire song into RAM before playing it. It never skips now, but takes forever to play each song (like a 10 sec delay between each song).

Is there a plugin that will allow me to select the amount of buffering that takes place? Or have it buffer many songs beforehand? Anything that will reduce the delay?

    Thanks,
    Marlin Liew

Try disabling the Network card. When I had a Slow (133) Processor in my book PC I had the same problem. Turned out it the Network was being polled, took to much of the processor and made the music skip.
