I have a bit of experience using the ximp dll. However im not to happy about the result and i believe that this i mainly due to the fact that i dont have access to the code to the ximp only the compiled dll.

The problem is actually quite simple vb does not support bit operations on the lpt, if you run it serial yuo can utilize the ms comm control. unfortunately i dont know how to wire the display for serial use.

If you know c or delphi you have true access to the printer port. i do in fact believe that source code i available for delphi and you have some code that will run in dos for c.

If you find source code that enables you to control the parallel port in VB please let me know, im pretty shure that there have to be something out there
