Post Changing m3u's to 8.3 format

Currently im running win98/winamp and im very happy with it with one acception, the boot time. Well, since Im not doing anything exotic with the setup right now I thought I might drop down to DOS/mpxplay. Well, looking into it, how would I change my current playlists into the dos standard 8.3 filename format? If I have to recreate all my playlists, then I dont know that it woudl be worth it. Anyone have a word macro or something that might change it over or a program that will. Well, just lemme know. Thanx in advance.

I found a Windows API that does it. I tried it in macro language and it didn't work. If you want I can write a small VB program that does it for you. I'm in Atlanta so it will have to wait until at least tomorrow when I get back home to Ohio or Saturday. Just let me know if you need it.
