Thread: Looking for best software for packard bell IR remote....

I had a little bit of success getting those two programs to work with the PB remote. But, I had to hit the button on the remote like 25 times before the software would recognize one single command, so I finally gave up on using it. The remote wouldn't send the same signal two times in a row.

I know, you probably paid like $7 for that remote, right? Well, there's a reason why it's so cheap... it doesn't work.

My advice: throw the Packard Bell remote away. It's junk. I've got a Keyspan USB media remote that works great (costs about $35-$50 now I think). I've also heard good things about the irman.

The remote itself is not that bad. The way the reciever works is pretty bad. I have written a dll that will read the remote signals and tell you what buttons were pushed. It does require a pretty fast computer, I'd say at least a P166. If anyone is wanting to develop software to utilize this remote then send me an email and I'll get that dll out to you.
