    Batch Files

    I've created 2 batch files.. One to disable and one to enable a device that causes me problems...

    Everytime I want to use this device I have to run the enable batch file and after the usage the disable..

    Is it possible to make the disable batch file run when the welcome screen runs (first thing of all)??

    you can try putting it into the registry under

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]

    or if you are running windows 2000 or windows XP, just go to start and run and type in gpedit.msc, and under the Computer configuration and Windows setting hive, there is a place you can add a logon script. which should be fairly early in the logon process.

    Here is what I would do. Start-programs-accessories-system tools-scheduled tasks. Then click add task and select the .bat Then tell it to execute on startup.

    otherwise you can create a batch file whitch runs the file you want, with proper parameters, and then tell the program to run that batch file =)

    @ECHO OFF
    :START
    START C:\DOCUME~1\Anthony\Desktop\devcon\i386\devcon.exe enable *NIC1394

    This enables firewire port... I want it for pcmcia but don't remember the hardware ID right now!!

    I have one batch file for enable and one for disable.. what I want is to disable the device BEFORE everything starts... I mean first thing at the welcome screen... is this possible?
