Yes it is a demo. Yes it is a commercial project. We are a group of four guys that have spent 3 years building a software interface to work with our hardware.

After getting a lot of good feedback on the hummer installation and some questions about our software we spent the last week getting a public demo ready. This is a DEMO that is limited to 5 albums and 5 movies. We don't have a full version available for sale yet period. (Target price for release is $29) This is a sneak peak of what it can do. We are professionals who make a living from building and selling carputers. We have worked hard to build something and deserved to be paid for it. We are not here to make a million dollars, I'd be happy if I could pay all the bills. Can people see if they like the product it is in everyones best interest to make sure we stay in business so we can continue to develop and support it? I love open source and wish there was I way I could make this free and stay in business.

But I wonder why we'd be of any interest to you on the basis that we're the most unlikely group to be either part of your target market, or part of your customer base?

MP3CAR.COM members are by far the most technial carputer people out there. If people like our software and help us add to it by creating skins, posting bug's and suggesting features we can make it even better. We are not expecting to make any money from mp3car.com members. We already know you guys can build computers similar to ours for half the price. 12 months ago I was one of those guys.

We have had sucess in our own niche market (Limo's and high end custom cars) but outside of Southern California, no one has herd of us. We are hoping the software release will get our name out there.

If you go to google and type "12vsystems" you will see that this forum post ranks higher then our home page does. Outside of our little circle know one has ever herd of us not even google.

I've been looking for an interface that fully skinable and I have finally found one. Installing it wasn't that hard the only thing I forgot to do was copy the ESGraphics folder over to the c:\program files\esx manager directory.

The program is fast, professional looking, smooth and easy to customize. I have 40,000 songs in my library and all songs play instantly.

There were two features that were really nice.

The CD Ripper is built into the application and when I'm connected to the web it rips the songs with album title and name and adds them to my music library.

The SYNC mp3 folders actually works. This seems so simple but I have never found a program until now that has done it. If you have two music directories you can sync the folders and any new songs on either drive will be copied over. I rip CD's in my car and when I get home I connect a firewire drive and update my music without having to mess with Explorer.

I am no photoshop expert but I was able to create my own skin in about two hours. This was just a test. I am planning on building a VW theme to match the car.

professional looking? *chukles* hehehe... have you really looked at the other offerings? not meaning to diss any of this software, but I tested it out and found it was much limited in comparison with other frontends.... Make sure u do your research before saying stuff like that... if you have tried others then I'm glad u found what u like!
