I made a little tracker client for my VB class black in 2001/2002. It used my Nextel 9600 baud wireless modem. The site doens't work anymore (it's .asp based and all my servers are *nix based now). It can be found here http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://...ereismycar.org

    Really cool frodo!!!

Cant wait for your writeup, cause I want to add this to my setup... I wonder if/when googlemaps will work out of the US... I hope it is soon... does it work for the UK/Europe already?

On the google maps, there is a little link on the top right that says satellite. If you click that it will show show actual images of the area youre looking at. Can you also use this view with this tracker?

Not with this tracker, yet. Frodo and I were talking about it last night, we just haven't had time to write any code for it yet. We do have it mostly figured out though. Note, the satellite images only cover half the U.S. right now.

Can you explain this a little better.
This page uses a custom XM Radio client that uploads
What does XM have to do with this?

You see those fields for music stuff ?

Eventually this will all tie in with FrodoPlayer and other Front ends.
As for now, Zip-Lock mainly uses XM Radio in his car, so the obvious
choice to upload the data was to tack it on temporarily to my XM
    client.

    So that's what I did.

As soon as I can get a license and a PocketTrack, it will be in the works.

Cool, I hope someone makes plugins for all frontends! (At least RR/NMC since FP is gonna have it for sure)...

I also take it that you would make a easy way for su to upload this to a server? Are you going to be releasing the server source?

I was thinking of releasing my tracking system once it became more stable, but I am having trouble pulling stuff from mapmonkey
