We have been doing a little experiment over the last month or so, and
here is a teaser. It's not completely done or live yet, but should be in
a day or so as soon as I can get Zip-Lock the updated client, and
upload the latest web codes.

A writeup will follow the successful live tests.
For now, you can view the log portion on the right side.

Now have it automatically update every time you drive past an unsecured access point so that us cheap bastards with cheap cellphones can tell everyone where we are!

nice, great job frodo... I'm gonna have to look into this, I want to do something along the lines of lo-jack
i have a t-mobile pcmcia modem and i already pay for the service, i want to do something along the lines of whenever the car is on it uploads the location of the car to my webserver, then i can do what i want with it...possibly even shut the car down remotely (hrmmmm).... If only i wasnt such a lazy bastard...
