I don't actually think anyone managed to install it properly!
Has any one used the "ESXManager" software made by 12Vsystems.com ?
What makes it better than any of the other free software out there?
From what I've read it does:
- dvd
- gps
- camera
- mp3
- photo
Any comments?

Well it's clearly a VB6 program so not going to have the best install ability.
After installing I needed to copy the EsGraphics folder to the intall folder, and then it didn't complain about a missing theme or ini file. Now its complaining about mswebdvd.dll missing, but I am running windows 2000.
Would be nice if I could continue without this file.... I might not want to play dvds anyway.![]()

Thanks for the interest in the software. Let me clarify a couple things
You must be running Windows XP. This program will not work on 2000. As posted in the installation notes.

We had some problems with the orginal zip file missing some of the dll's. Someone sent me an email, we corrected the problem and reposted the software 3 hours later. That was Sunday and since then I have had emails from 4 people telling me they have sucessfully installed it. (This was our first install package we put together, sorry for the bugs)
What makes our software our software better?
I'm bias on that one, the last thing I want to do on the forums is a sales pitch. Screen shots and software manual are available on the website. Demo can be downloaded for free. I WANT FEEDBACK, TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF THE SOFTWARE GOOD OR BAD. We have worked so hard to create this we want to know what people think. If you find a bug, post it on the forums. We will fix it(if possible) and respond.
Spent all my money on carputers now I have to work a real job.

I've been looking for an interface that fully skinable and I have finally found one. Installing it wasn't that hard the only thing I forgot to do was copy the ESGraphics folder over to the c:\program files\esx manager directory.
The program is fast, professional looking, smooth and easy to customize. I have 40,000 songs in my library and all songs play instantly.
There were two features that were really nice.
The CD Ripper is built into the application and when I'm connected to the web it rips the songs with album title and name and adds them to my music library.
The SYNC mp3 folders actually works. This seems so simple but I have never found a program until now that has done it. If you have two music directories you can sync the folders and any new songs on either drive will be copied over. I rip CD's in my car and when I get home I connect a firewire drive and update my music without having to mess with Explorer.
I am no photoshop expert but I was able to create my own skin in about two hours. This was just a test. I am planning on building a VW theme to match the car.

12vsystems.com, why don't you download Visual Studio installer 1.1:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/do...1/default.aspx
makes installations a LOT easier, and tidies up VB6 packages very well.
Also, dropping onto the scene with a pay-for product that doesn't match up with the free stuff, and from what I've heard is pretty much still beta quality won't win you over many people. If you're definately going to stay pay-for then my best advice would be tidy it up so it installs like a proper windows app, and find whoever designs the best looking skins (in your opinion) on here and pay them to do a DECENT default skin.

ESX Manager to my Knowledge!
I think ESX Manager is the coolest software I have ever seen. It is way easy to install though one thing need not be forgotten abt copying the ESX graphics directory. The best feature is you can choose your playlist. Save the Playlist. You can also sort by Artist as well as Albums. You can store hundreds of movies and it still works fine. The Volume control well exhibits its functionality. It also has a software to RIP DVD's which is the best and user friendly software to my notice.
I came across these software while inspecting a Limo in and around bay area. The reason I here to check out more stuff regarding CarPC.
If you need any first hand info feel free to email me at youemailmee att yahoo dot com
why is it that whenever a new for-pay software comes on the scene we get a bunch of newly regged users saying its the best thing ever?
sheesh.....
Yeah, but they will offer us "first hand info"Originally Posted by RoyN
