hi,
I have a lot of mp3's. But they don't have the same loudness. Is there any software that would set them to the samr volume?
Thanks

Test a few Mp3's before you gain them all. Make sure you are happy with the result.![]()

I think he is more refering to the fact that normalization can make tracks sound worse in general rather than anything being wrong with the specific program.
Just bear in mind that normalization isn't a perfect solution and weigh up whether you prefer to do it or not.
Many mp3 players have the option to match the volume. Itunes does it, and I think winamp does too, but I havent used that in over a year so I dont remember.

Im thinking laptop...
Unless I'm completely wrong, mp3gain doesn't apply normalisation. It "listens" to the track and then applies a gain to the whole track. Quiet bits still sound quiet. It can also set the gain on an album basis so quieter tracks within an album still sound quieter. I would apply normalisation as it messes up how the track should sound.Just bear in mind that normalization isn't a perfect solution and weigh up whether you prefer to do it or not.
Is there anything preventing me from copying my MP3 folder and then using MP3gain on the copied folder in case there are problems ??
