Good ideas. Especially for lazy people like me.
First, my hat's off to all you guys and gals who work your butt off to create software and applications for the free use of the members of this forum. I have been using/trying most of them and could not live without some of them on my carputer. THANK YOU!
However, I see that unversally getting to these softwares and their subsequent updates can be very difficult or confusing at times as links are sometimes scattered or burried within many many messages and posts.
May I suggest the following:
1- Create a sticky as the first thread for each software, and except for the author, lock it to everyone else. Call it download, or something like that.
2- Put all downloadable files, links to the author's web site or to alternative download sites, for that particular software in there. Instructions for software installations go there too.
3- Include a link for donations.
4- As updates, new information or new versions become available, just add, or replace a link, with a new date so those who have the earlier version need to update it.
Since this thread would be locked to other members, there won't be a clutter of posts and I think this will not only make it easier to find the right stuff, but also cut down on a lot of repeat questions regrading install and updates.![]()
