    Um, who is Steve Jobs?

again my point was, making this into a PC vs Mac this is stupid. YOU arent helping by saying that i was trying to get into an arguement....

original post was about iTunes, my rebuttal was stupid but he had to go and say OOOOG thatll **** the mac guys off, making an iTunes frontend for Windoze. Gimme a break man that was a stupid point to make and I didnt flame. So dont start flaming.

The benefit is you could play iTunes purchased from the iTunes music store. I realize it's not very common, but I actually pay for music I buy and I do it through iTunes.

In order to render them playble on my car PC, I have to use Tunebite to convert them. It works, but is basically the equivalent of recording the output from a line jack. It would be much better if the front end would play it natively.

BTW, RR ought to be able to do this easily as the iTunes SDK consists of a COM architecture. I've toyed around a little bit with accessing it through VB and it works fine and is pretty easy. Of course, it launches iTunes in the background, so you have another app running.

Because I believe that even though the record companies are greedy bastards that the people who work there and try to put their kids through college deserve to get paid for their effort.

I'd no more steal a CD from Tower Records than I'd swipe and use for free a graphic that you did for your company. It's stealing and I won't contribute to it.

Yeah but the people who made these things have all the money in the world.

bands make money touring. Show support by going to a show and buying a t-shirt, not the CD. But of course if your fave band just released a CD, I say support them by buying it, cuz how can you be a fanboy if you dont OWN the all the albums...

BUT IMO, if something is free in the same place that it costs $.99, why pay the money?

well that's just it, isn't it? it's not free. if the band didn't care about money then they would release their album online for free. but unless they do that they expect to get paid for it right? just because you can take something and not get caught doesn't make it free.
