Voice recognition problems. WinXP/Navivoice.
I've got my carputer working and completely setup waiting to be installed but I'm being held up with these voice recognition problems.
I've installed a stripped down version of WinXP SP2 and then installed SAPI 5 from the links found here. (70mb version). After that I've tried to install the latest NaviVoice and keep on getting these class errors.
So I've uninstalled and reinstalled SAPI, this time installing speech recognition from OfficeXP. Still getting the same errors. So I decided to give up on NaviVoice and try Bruno. Also getting errors. I removed everything again and this time installed the latest SAPI out of Office2003. Still won't work.
After playing around with this I've noticed that I do NOT have a Speech icon in control panel. I've tried to manually add the language and speech files under regional/language options -> input devices -> details -> voice recognition, but no matter which language or version of SAPI I have installed I still don't have the option of checking off Voice/Speech.
This must have been one of the things removed from my version of XP I've installed. I have everything configured and I am really NOT looking for the suggestion of reinstalling XP and starting fresh. There has to be some way to manually install or add the Speech option into XP from the CD or CAB files. After installing the latest SAPI, I DO have the option of trying to select Voice recognition, but it's as if no languages are found. I'm wondering if I can install an alternate language or voice pack, if it will recognize it and allow me to select it. I've heard of AT&T having some alternate voice packs but I wasn't able to find much information on them. This is definately not a NaviVoice problem at this time, but I'm open to any and ALL suggests other than reinstalling XP from scratch.
Lemme know if anyone has any ideas.. Thanks alot,
