Are you trying to install XP on one system then swap the hdd to a completely diffrent system? XP simply does not like that, its not like win98... you need to do a repair instal on the new machine (not repair console) if that is the case.

her mad ad thats what i did
i hate doing a repair install it never goes right lol i get confused have you got any tips for this
thank you
My understanding is that you re-install by booting from the windows cd, choose to install on your existing windows partition and when prompted choose "Repair existind install".
PC Chips 1500,512mb ddr,no case yet, LinITX 7" touchscreen,300w inverter,RoadRunner FreeDrive,BU303 gps mouse.
Problem is a driver you installed.
Boot in safe mode (f8) and remove the latest installed driver.
That should fix your problem!
ive not installed any drivers yet just xp and cant get in safe mode im going to try the repair install in a mo and see what happens
right i have sorted it thank you for all the help it was great
i did the repair install and that worked a treet![]()
Nope Rusty, only related by interest, nothing else it seems![]()
For future reference, try support.microsoft.com. You should be able to figure out what the actual problem was.
