Don't think there's one actually maintained anymore...
If I'm wrong, tell me please!
Hello all its been a while since I posted. I was wondering if there is a decent non-vga frontend out there. I don't have a VGA monitor(Can't get one for a while-kids) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent frontend for non-vga monitors.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Not sure what you mean non VGA. Pycar supports small graphical LCDs.

I run a VFD based system. Source code is on my site if you are handy with a compiler.

Didn't no a non-vga interface existed. We have always just made the buttons and text size larger in our app if we have to use TV's.
Welcome to the way we used to (and some still do) do things.Originally Posted by 12Vsystems

Ok we are talking about two different things. When the post said non-vga I assumed he was using low quality composite video. After reading the post again it looks more like we are talking about a LCD Character display.
Wouldn't a composite frontend just be a skined version of a VGA one with a couple buttons removed to save realestate?
My post was supposed to mean a composite output front end. I have a 7: Composite LCD and all of the Front end programs are geared towards vga monitors. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a non-vga(composite) font end I can use.

The best thing to do, is just to try the different front ends and see if one will work with your lcd monitor. This monitor that you have is like a basic portable DVD player screen more or less im gathering, so it just might be able to view at 640x480. I have also had some experience with connecting a TV to a computer via composite rca connector, and at 640x480 its not too shabby.

oh i can't remember which front end it is, but that one that switches to full screen automatically and upon exitting doesn't reset your resolution would probably work well for ya, i think it runs at 640x480, not sure though, but drove me nuts during testing on my 1600x1200 res monitor :P... let's just say i deleted that fast
