What is different about this emulator that makes it good for touchscreen? Also, what frontend are you using?

This is a great EMU site: http://emulationrealm.net/windows.php

I use MAME Plus!, EMU7800, FCE Ultra, Project 64/1964, SNES9X/ZSNES, and VisualBoyAdvanced. I have every rom in every lanuguage for Atari 2400, NES, SNES, N64, MAME /w CHDs, GBA, GBC, and GBX. I use LusSpace as a single front-end that has game-box-art, screen shots, descriptions, and manuals of each game and will automatically un-7zip the rom and launch it with one of the above emulators all on a double click. All of this takes up about 80GBs.

LusSpace is not a good full-screen browser, but it is the best one I have found that supports un-7zip-ing the ROMs and launching them in one click (and then deleting the ROMs [but not the save files] once you close the game). If I wasn't using Good-Merged 7zip ROMs, it would take about 300+ GB instead of only 80GB. I'm sure with some SKINbedding you could get LusSpace to look decent on the CarPC.

I've looked into lusspace, but it wouldn't detect my roms =/

I have only "Good ROMs" (it's an auditing system). Maybe you need to run Good-Tools on your ROM collection or something (or just re-download the entire Good-Merged set from the torrent file here: http://www.grh.se/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3)

I don't have a problem closing the emulator during emulation, after exiting out of a game or on the main meu.

The reason I choose this emulator was because using resource hacker I could increase the text size to 24pt making it easy to select a games. Most emulators I use have small controls that can't be changed.

The skinbedder is able to focus in on the part of the screen I am intersted in and I can add my own custom buttons, Close and Back (for when your playing a game and you want to get back to the menu.)

Everything works really smoothy I haven't had it crash on me once.

I didn't want an emulator that would consume a lot of system resources. I wanted something that was easy to use on a touch screen and that could embed into a frontend nicely. I am really happy with this setup. I have the volume disabled so my friends can play without disturbing the music and it doesn't have a noticable difference of peformance.

The nes games are a little old school, which is why a GBA emulator would be perfect. I'll wait to get home until I play halo.

The front end is ESXManager I am doing beta testing for a new version.

SS: That is my home setup. I do not plan on playing games in my 2-seater. I may work on SKINbedding a front-end that can play multiple emulators (LusSpace or something better that supports 7zip if I can find it) once I am done with V3.1 and have it working for iG and TMO to my satisfaction. Could be a while . Hopfully Manana or someone else will be able to do a good job with it once V3 is out and then I wont have to worry about it.

I will update this to work with Version 3 once it's released.

I have a ton of roms and emulators on my home PC as well but I wanted something for my car. After looking around I still think rocknes is the best fit for what I want to do.

    When will V3 be out?

I'm not trying to pursuade anyone if RockNES works for you, but I think an "Emulator Front-End" such as LusSpace may be better because then you will automatically have support for multiple Console Platforms all in a single interface. Plus for me 7-zip support is a must.

I'm working to get V3 out this week, but don't be too surprized if it gets delayed until next week.
