DashCam is just too slow with activated overlay, even with just one camera.
why not use dashcam or dashcam lite i believe one or both do overlay and can handle 2 cams side by side SNO

Hi, I'm new and want to share my new discovery.
I have found a codec that uses GPU. It is called "gpeg2". It is/was shareware, but the developers website no longer exists. For me it works fine. If I select the "full mpeg2"-compression, there appears a window, that says "the codec will work only for one minute", but it doesn't.
Is it allowed to attach it to this post?
Edit:
Here it is. --> GPEG2_evaluation.zip
THIS is were I downloaded it.

Thanks for the find.
I guess it is okay to post a link as long as it is not an illegal crack/patched version.
I have added the codec to the post above. Hope it is ok.
I've had one for quite a while. The problem is there aren't any drivers that support the hardware encoding on XP/Win7 (or Win8, more on that). So while the device itself does support the ability to encode and stream H.264 HD video, you can't find anything on the PC-side of the equation to control and record it. On Win8, which supports the UVC (USB Video Class) spec, it WILL stream 1080p 30fps with next to no processor usage at all. BUT...you can't record it. I tried a couple of differnt apps and written two of my own and the stream is dropped the minute you click the record button. So my thinking is that not all the bugs have been worked out of the UVC spec.
Of note: I believe Skype supports the H.264 encoding on XP/Win7. I may be wrong about that, but I think I read it someplace.
The C920 is otherwise an excellent camera. I have a C910 and a C920 and I find the audio to be slightly better on the 920. Video quality on both is excellent.

Thanks a lot for the quick update @VegasGuy
Why doesn't the software work? Like what makes this camera any different from a standard one? I had thought any USB camera could be captured with any software that records webcams. If it can stream, then it can be captured is how I thought it worked. Because if anything, the PC software could just record everything on the screen and therefore record the video playing from the camera. Would that work?
