To speed up the video use VirtualDub. I don't remeber the exact steps I took but with a bit of trial and error you will get there:

First step: reduce the frames to 1/25th. Option in VirtualDub is "process every ___ frame" and set it to 1fps. Save the video.

Second step: Speed up the video to 25fps. Save the video.

Maybe someone can make a batch of it

Btw, Prefect. Do you think you are able to make a speedlabel (or any other customizable RR-label?) overlay while recording the video? That could be a cool option

customizable RR-label? hmm sorry I don't know RR and this labels.

I tryed to overlay the video with text (speed, rpm and so on) but I can not make it record that to the video. I would need to write my own WDM-Videofilter and integrate that in the DirectVideo graphrenderer. Thats a bit too complicated for me :-/

This is a great tool, thanks .......... I find that the audio is delayed though, do you think using another audio codec will solve this ?

    Cheers.

I have the same problem here. Switching the video-codec does affect it. Xvid is much less delayed than Divx for me. I don't know what is causing that...

Would it be possible to record all the time (as soon as carputer starts, until it shuts down/hibernates), keeping only the last 30 minutes of video?

i.e., Say I start the engine at 9AM and turn the engine off at 10AM. When the engine is turned off, only the last 30 minutes of video (Video from 9:30 to 10) are kept in the HDD. Of course, this can be 30 minutes, 3 minutes, or 300 minutes, customizable setting.

I don't know if there are such softwares available, but if there are, please let me know.

    Thats possible with Capture!

    Again:

Set "Stop after X Seconds" to 1800 (30 mins)
Set "Only Keep the last X Files" to 3
    Set "Autostart capture on load"

If you use hibernate then set "Stop capture on suspend and restart on resume"

At any time, you will have at least the last 30 minutes on tape.

If something interesting happened, press the "archive video" button and the last 30 minutes will be permanently stored to any folder you declare.

Hey Prefect can I make a request? Is it possible to have an option when the program is minimized to only have a small icon on the system tray instead of the usual bar on the task bar? Is this too much work? Thanks for the great program.

BTW I recently got an external USB capture device from plextor that has hardware DIVX encoder inside it so with NO compression on the computer I capture video in DIVX with 15-20% CPU and I have an SP13000!!! very pleased!
