Well did some messin around and seems to work great now... still wont work with Divx 6.8.5, hit record goes to black screen and saves a 0kb file then no preview anymore.. not to concerned though the hibernation is working great now (stops before hibernate, starts new recording on resume from hibernation).... still using Indeo 5.10 @ 640x480@ 30fps, its about a 1gb/Hr of record time, that I can live with, Im rotating 7 files...

One request, any possiblity of adding a custom text box on the GPS overlay.. maybe a 10-16 character box to stamp on the video with the GPS info??

Thanks again for the notepad trick... it works great!

    +1

Also for reference my sound is back in sync for no apparent reason (though I'm not complaining ) and I currently use CCCP (ffdshow) and I think currently WM7 or something, does about 300MB an hour? Might be 400/500MB actually.

There are a lot of codecs that don't work in real time and some that need adjusting. DivX and XviD are like that. Make sure you set it to 1-pass and try highest speed first (which usually looks terrible) and watch the CPU, then move up to higher quaility/bitrate. A lot of the formats in ffdshow seem to work, like H.264, MPEG-4 and WM7. I just keep forgetting to install it in the car.

@f1ip: I fixed that FPS thing about a week ago. It was getting set to some random value when changing the res and would show blank on the config window. That could be your porblem. Make sure you get the latest.

So should the custom text overlay be in a specific place or positionable? It does have the ability.

I would suggest the ability to just stick it in one of the drop down menu areas

Im going to try some ffdshow codecs and see what happens.. I've tried the Divx set at 1-pass, max speed etc. etc. still to no avail..

Heres a 20sec clip of it in action... hadn't downloaded the version w. custom text yet.. this was shot at 640x480@30fps using a CCD camera (need a higher mm lens) and USB capture card, using Indeo 5.10 w/ quick compress. Original 20 sec clips was 20.7mb so I recompressed with WMM down to 2.2mb, little bit grainier but not bad..

Excuse me if I'm blind, but where did you hide the custom text option

Also one more thing to add to your list, an option to start minimised?

The custom text is on the GPS overlay settings. Make sure you replace the old DSGPS.ax with the new one.

So start minimised, start recording? Can do!

Replacing that file do I need to do a RegisterGpsFilter again or just simply have it in the same folder as GPSFilter?
