Is it possible for you to backport the audio-sync-fix to my original version of Capture? The old layout of Capture! fits my carpc setup better so I'm currently not using minicam, but I want to have audio in sync.

Where do you put the latest version of minicam? I always have to search the thread for links. I could not find minicam on your website.

Ah! Despite looking at the page over and over again, I did not see the text where it says: "Includes XOBD and MiniCam".

There should be a separate link or the whole file should be linked: <a href="">GPS DirectShow Filter / XOBD / MiniCam</a>

Hi Chris,

I voted for Capture! and help it get 5th place on a recent poll here on the best apps for the community!

My version was working perfectly until I upgraded to Windows 7. It does work, but does not start well, can't find the device. Once I click preview, it works, records, etc.

Any ideas?

MiniCam works great with both PS2 and PS3 eye toys. Im still experimenting with the codecs. Im getting high CPU usage , too fast playback and recording hangs in a still image after 10-15 minutes.

Shouldn't we make a post just for miniCam? It will give it more visibility and help keep track of changes and issues.

It shuts everything down before hibernating and has a 5 second delay before restarting when resuming, so I'm not sure what else I can do. It could be the eyetoy drivers. High CPU usage and fast playback most likely means you're over doing it. For example a 1.0GHz won't keep up with 640x480, 30fps, and high quality compression, and your CPU temp is going to get pretty high running at 100%.

I didn't actually do the audio fix. Once I get the C# stuff installed in Win7 I will though. Where's the source? I'm not even on codeproject. I could also add the GPS stuff too.

not really a hijack as you gave capture! a good push forward and I guess miniCam is related to the ideas in the thread. Having a separate thread will definitely help give it visibility and downloads

Im guilty of overloading the system. Its an ultra-low power cpu (fujitsu mini-laptop) 1.3GHz. MP3 playback + GPS + VideoRecording seems to be too much for it. Im already looking for a new laptop to upgrade the system. Videos recorded with the ps3 eye at 648x480 with sound look amazing. It records whatever music you are playing plus the noise of the engine (very sensitive mics) and looks like a music video

Yeah, that's true. I'm just helping out and adding some options.

It may look amazing, but it needs to record as well. You could always drop the frame rate or reduce compression until it's stable and the CPU meter isn't pegged.

Also I noticed something else today. I didn't have all the optimizations enabled. Just some tweeks to the video stream that cut the CPU usage down quite a bit. I uploaded to the new build, so download that and give it a try.

The only real change was in window dragging. I wasn't passing the mouse X/Y so in Windows 7, it will jump around when you drag it.

Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, I just tested recently, and the Halloween activities sidelined me for a bit.

So I've tried a couple of settings and it worked very well on my Windows 7, as well as the debug version I was using, but with the window dragging working very well.

So mystery solved. Any idea what it was? The last two versions you've uploaded worked, I'm using the last one now. In any case, I'm going to put on the start with windows folder. I did two recordings on the road already, one 18min, another 8min.

The 18 min file was

800x600 @ 15fps, XVID (FFDShow standard settings), 930Kbps, Audio (argh) at 4 kbps (PCM? not sure).
