No. Capture stops on hibernate, then starts on resume with a new name. MiniCam does the same thing. We can't easily append to an existing avi, so a new file has to be created.

Is this the error? "<device> is in use or cannot be rendered. (number)"

Sorry to ressurect an old thread. I am getting the same issue with the 0kb files when the gps overlay has been registered.

If I un registering the filter it works.

This is using the lastest file from the website. Does the debug version in this thread resolve this problem?

fyi this happens even with the xvid ffdshow pack.

    any ideas?

Oh, I didn't think about it being the GPS. From what I understood MiniCam had the problem. The debug version along with some output from DbgView on a system with the problem was supposed show what it was doing, but I never got any info. So the fix for now is unregister the GPS overlay. Sorry.

With the GPS filter registered, my USB capture card (EZCap) had the 0kb problem with Minicam, but worked fine in WinAVI / other programs. Tried different codecs/etc. At the same time, my normal USB webcam recorded fine.

Now that I saw the above posts, I unregistered the GPS filter and now the USB capture card records fine.

Although I haven't had time to run the debug yet, let me know if it would be of any use to yourself and I shall try it out.

OK, that makes a little more sense. It works with a webcam but not EZCap. The EZCap output pin may not be compatible with the GPS filter input pin, which is RGB only. It might only have a YUV or YUY2 output. That's the big difference between MiniCam and the rest. It connects all the filters manually so it doesn't stick conversion filters between them. I just need to add a conversion there if it fails.

Oh wait... Do you see the GPS overlay when it's previewing, but stops when recording? I wouldn't think so.

Updated. I added a color space converter, but hard to test it here. Give me feedback.

Cool. I will test the updated version.

Do you want me to run the debug version if not and give you the output?

Right, I just tested the latest version and I get the same problem.

The thing is I am using a normal webcam and have always had this problem. I have tried 2 different ones and the problem is still there.

once again the problem disspears when I unregister the filter...

    Thanks for your continued help!

Yes, debugging would help me a lot. Here's a new special one with lots of debug info. http://curioustech.home.insightbb.co...ms/MiniCam.zip
And the output will go to DbgView
