    anyone having problems when archiving?
Sometimes when I hit the archive button on MiniCam I get the WinXP exclamation sound and then I cant click on anything else. Similar to having a modal dialog a trying to switch windows but in this case I see no dialog. It always happens in the road where I dont have a keyboard and external mouse to test if there is a hidden window behind minicam. A hard reboot via power button is the only way out.

Everything else on minicam has been working perfectly for the last 2 or 3 months

It just plays a ding sound when it's done archiving. There would be something wrong if you didn't hear it. Actually I should probably take it out.

maybe a quick status message showing "archiving of $filename succesful".
Any idea why it would lock everything during/after the archiving?
Im sorry I don't have more information. I'll try to replicate the issue while logged trough VNC to see if I can find any hidden window

No windows. It's just something with starting capture again. It may be restarting too quickly or something. Is it locking up minicam or everything?

It behaves exactly as it would if there were a modal dialog preventing switching to the other applications. Music keeps playing and you can see activity in the desktop (its not frozen) and if I remember correctly minicam keeps showing the preview. It just that you cant click on anything.

I'll try replicating it as soon as I get home.

Xport 1.24 MiniCam shows no GPS data on display.Navi-soft works fine with virtual port.

I have tried replicating the locking when archiving issue but is not happening now. The closest I could get to breaking it was when after archiving multiple videos I couldn't delete the first one in the batch. After closing MiniCam then the file could be deleted. For some reason MiniCam was holding a handle or something on the first video archived.

Im having more of a hard time editing the avi files. Seeking is always broken and converting to mpeg is the only way I've been able to work on the videos to add to the "morons behind the wheel" documentary

curiosity..i am facing a strange problem lately.. i have minicam running embedded in rr..so i don't really know if it is working or not every time ..i use hibernation..
so suddenly i open the skin that has minicam embedded, and i find out minicam is not running, even though it is listed in the "task manager" so i close everything and end task minicam..and try to re-run it..but nothing..it does not run even though it is listed again in task manager..
So i restart the PC and try to run minicam once again..but the same result again..nothing.. I unregister the gps filter and re-register...but nothing again..

The only solution is to copy paste minicam's folder to another location and run it from there..it runs fine..then if i try to run it from the original location it also runs fine..
then in a couple of days the same thing happens..

and by the way another thing..Xport still crashes sometimes after hibernation..(but this has nothing to do with the previous problem)

No idea. I haven't tested it with Navi-soft but will if I can get ahold of it. If it recognizes the GPS, then it's most likely reading data. Getting a fix should mean the same. If you're using the same port for 2 apps, try using different ports. It seems to be having trouble with that feature.

I've seen that happen once. It was the first file as well. I don't think there's anything I can do about it though. Sorry.

What are you using to edit the files? I've only used VirtualDub and it seems to be fine. There is a clock source, so it might be harder for some editors.
