Yeah that was heading into Freo, good guess. Using XviD, results in 1gb per 1 hour at the moment.
Considering it's youtube it looks great!
I'm assuming 640x480, default font size and color. It's easier to read if the font is a little larger.

I gave this a try today, but its not working too well for me.
Currently using win7 32 bit, setup everything fine, and then i pressed the Record button, instantly crash, now the minicam crashes everytime i open it. even after i deleted all files and extracted freshed ones. what should i do?
nevermind, i think i figured it out, it turns out it doesn't like my xvid codec.
i deleted the reg files and reran it, i gotta find another codec to try now.
Try FFDShow. The standalone XViD can't do realtime, or at least the version I have.
got it to work with Divx pro codec, doing 720p at 30fps looking pretty good.
however, it doesn't seem to work so well with s3 sleep, everytime the computer wakes up, the screen goes blank and it is in stop mode, and you'll have to press record for it to record again.
how do i overcome this?
Here is the video during trial run, stupid blue tint is in the way so i'll have to move it down a little, it looks crisp and clear but youtube compressed it quite a bit.

Maybe this can help somebody here, there's a new March/2010 FFDShow out there:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/files/
Keep those files updated, specially if you also update display drivers and windows updates regularly. FFDShow is constantly being updated.
Minicam (old version, I think 1.0?) works great for me, just recording in the background. Would love to see a button to start/stop previewing when recording, to save cpu cycles and still being able to check if the GPS info is being recorded (generally it isn't but that's a Garmin issue I have after resuming).

It should start 5 seconds after resume if it's capturing, but it's possible that the camera isn't ready yet. I just uploaded a new one that can restart another 5 seconds later if it fails. It already has that if it gets an error when it's running, but didn't have it for start. Of course that could get caught in an endless loop, but let's hope not. It also has debug info to show what's failing.
awesome, thanks for the fix, will try it out and report back.
tried the new files, same problem.
where is the debug file located?
