i have a suggestion for quickcam:
if you can add the record/stop status to the task bar, so you can tell if its recording or not without opening it. also make it win7 friendly would be great too!

Yeah, usually we don't want to monitor the mic, unless maybe it was outside the car. It's useful for TV though, but I don't have the crossbar or tuner implemented either so it won't work too well. It's best to use the software that comes with it.

I'll see what I can do. It might be hard with multiple instances. The icons could add up. Not sure what you mean about win7 friendly though.

oh i mean make the status fit nicely for win7's smaller square taskbar thingy, where as winxp is nice and long.
i have no clue how you can do it for multiple instances though

The dvb tunner is an external module and I use the easycap usb to get the video and audio signal.

Yes the easycap capture application have the audio preview but I like the minicam app better, I can get the full screen without bar and integrate it nicely into CF.

If not maybe I can do a debug thing like I did with minicam.

curiosity, that seems to have gotten rid of the problem.. thanx

Hey Curiosity! Just wanted to say I've been using MiniCam since September 09 nearly flawlessly! THANK YOU again!

    I have a question though...

Ive finally got around to embedding it into CF but I have a hibernation issue now.

When I hibernate with MiniCam embedded in CF it doesnt receive the hibernation command and doesnt stop recording... upon resume it continues to record on the same filename...

Just wondering if you have any ideas on this... Ive re-read the last 30 pages of this thread and didn't come across any help in this area...

No idea. I don't think embedding can block messages, but that would corrupt the file and it may not be able to play at all. Maybe it's being changed to a child window without the parent calling DefaultWindowProc? That might do it.

Sending key commands would be the first idea. R is record and S is stop.

this thread is all over the place
curiosity, can you make export split the gps log files on standby/resume events?

I usually just hibernate and end up with very big logs with the file name referencing a date 1 or 2 weeks behind. Extra points if you make the split behavior selectable

    cheers

It already does. It's just not doing it for you.
