Evening chaps, thanks again for the software, it really is very useful.
Question for those of you running a day to day setup. My current install consists of a bullet cam mounted in my bumper running via RCA to a USB "EasyCap" device hooked up the PC. Image quality is reasonable but not excellent, but has been quite reliable over the couple of years I have been running it. (Including a few memorable runs round the 'Ring)
I'm now looking at upgrading my current setup and was looking for some pointers. I understand webcams and such have come on in leaps and bounds recently, but do they still suffer from the the frame loss/stutter with sharp movements? Also, the camera I would need would have to be weatherproof as it is mounted externally.
What are you guys running and what would you recommend?
(Encoding shouldn't be an issue, PC is a 2.3 Dual Core and 4GB DDR)
Ok, 64 pages in this thread at the moment. I did read through a few pages.
So, in all honesty, what/where is the app that is being discussed in the last few pages?
Is this the one that is called capture on page 1 or is it somewhere else?
Can this be embedded in CF3.1?
Thanks and sorry for being a bit lazy about not really wanting to read 60+ pages :(

But I have a problem - can't choose other resolution then 320x240 but on list there are different resolutions. Capture! record in many resolutions... Why is that?
Sorry for bad English.
The Capture! app is outdated and I don't think supported, this thread turned into a discussion about a better app called minicam: http://www.curioustech.net/minicam.html
I'm talking about Minicam that I have problem with it. Capture! allow to record in other resolutions then 320x240.
Sorry I misread that, hopefully someone can help :)
Check also if your cameras driver is install (or even uninstall it and see if the default windows driver makes a difference).
New version of MiniCam 1.12 resolved my problem :)
But I got another ;) When MiniCam was added to Centrafuse 3...:
...buttons of MiniCam are still visible after back to main menu of Centrafuse:
Why is that?
I'm testing Microsoft 5000 HD for front view recording, but I'm absolutely noob in video coding. Could somebody give me an advice how to set up video compression and which resolution to use?
BTW thanks to Curiosity for sharing this great application.
