    Ripping dvd chapters to hdd?

    Hi Guys,
I have found a couple of posts on this and a bit on google but no real answers!

All i want to do is take 1 or 2 chapters (individual tracks off music dvd's) and put them, uncompressed, onto my hdd. This is only for demo (showing off) use as i only listen to music so the size is not a problem.

I have downloaded software like dvdshrink and flash dvd ripper but i dont seem to beable to select them by chapter (song) or copy them uncompressed.

Idealy i would like to save a few videos in to a folder called C:/MusicVideo and point frodoplayer to that as my 'video' folder.

Then, if i go to 'video' in frodo, have the songs listed just like does with music and play them back in the same way. (just as music videos, without menu options etc)

So, First, how can i get stuff off the dvd onto the hdd?
Second, Can i play it stright back with frodo? (i have allready installed dvd codecs on my pc and a player if i have to tell frodo to use an external one)

    Thanks!

i've no idea on frodo as i use mobile impact, but to rip dvd chapters i use Xillisoft DVD Ripper, u open the dvd main folder, and then can choose chapters to encode seperately...im not sure but i think to select a couple of chapters and not the whole dvd u have to open the appropiate .vob file instead of the dvd itself.

u can choose which codec to use etc so u can change compression settings in there.

    hope that helps

this should give u the chapters u want in VOBs. If the software u want to use can play vobs ur sorted, otherwise u will HAVE to convert them.

    eg to MPG

    or divx

    Hope this helps.

You could convert the whole thing using the ripper of your choice.

Then cut up the file using one of the video splitter tools

Lots of resources HERE you can try
